What is the difference between an Automatic and Quartz Movement?
An automatic movement is a mechanical watch movement that is wound by the continuous motion of the wearer’s wrist. It does not require a battery as the wearer's motion provides the energy for the watch.
A quartz movement is powered by a battery that sends an electrical signal through a piece of crystal quartz. This is the most common type of movement.
